SOLD Acquired from a private estate for this delicate & petite
Zuni 5 strand Turquoise bird Fetish Necklace.
This necklace has been restrung and we have new cones and a hook and an extender chain
attached so now it is up to date and ready to own wear and enjoy!
This necklace is so amazing...
here's why...
Each Heishi bead strand is so very fine it measures 1/16"W. It really seems like
that narrow of a bead would be the smallest a bead could be and still have a thread actually go through it!
The next amazing aspect of this necklace is that there are a total of "94 birds" sitting on this necklace!
Does that seem even possible...??
This necklace measures 20"L maximum measuring the shortest length across as shown in photo provided.
Here is how the birds are distributed throughout this necklace:
Starting with the most inner strand or the shortest strand it has a total of 18 birds...
Then the second to the shortest has a total of 19 birds on the Heishi...
Then the third from the shortest has 19 birds on the Heishi...
Then the fourth from the shortest has 18 birds on the Heishi...
Then the fifth from the shortest or the longest Heishi has 20 birds on the Heishi...
All those birds total 94 birds! That is a tremendous amount of bird carving out of Turquoise
that has been done to create this gorgeous bird Fetish necklace!
What a fun piece this would be...to call your very own!
The third truly amazing aspect of this necklace is the actual size of each bird measures...
Each bird is 1/8"H or smaller x 1/4"-1/2"W. Considering there are 94 birds... this task is truly amazing!
Since Fetish necklaces are not signed because there is no room for a signature...this necklace is not signed.
If the thought of that bothers you...then see our "other fetish necklaces" which also are not signed...
This necklace is one to be worn and enjoyed by someone who frankly doesn't care about signatures.
Another aspect to note...
This necklace color is so difficult to photograph because it is so beautiful it photographs more blue than it is.
Really it is "slightly more green" than what my photos show. Notice the last photo I
took this photo outdoors in bright light may be this color is more true.
This photo is showing the black background.
Thanks for looking!
