SOLD Purchased from a private collection & now available for purchase
this large pot, rare, by Mary Small. Beautiful shape, as well as contrast of color,
this pot measures 9"H x 14"W. Base measures 6 1/4" across and top at opening
measures 10 1/8". This pot is polychrome matte finish with geometric and 4 large
Rainbird or Thunderbird, repeated bird motifs encircling pot.
This pot has 4 bird patterns repeated, with geometric patterns in between.
In past years we only have seen smaller pots by Mary Small.
Once you see how Mary creates and executes her work it is a very
recognizable by it's defined coloration. Colors indicative of
Mary Small's work are dark grey, orange and white.
This is unmistakably the largest Mary Small pot we have seen to date by this artist.
Mary small was recognized in 2002 as well as in 2010 as being the
"Artist of the Year." Competitions such as these assist an artist to
gain recognition & popularity, driving prices up.
