SOLD Purchased from a private collection in Aspen this is a very interesting and quite rare and unusual pot.
The store owner who at one time owned this pot owned a store in Aspen called Uriah Heeps.
Her store was in Aspen for about 25 years. She passed away about 10 years ago.
Her son was selling the remaining collection from his mother's estate.
Signed with the outline of an eagle head and LS, we believe this pot to be by
Lilly Salvador daughter of Frances Torivio. This polychrome pot is in the
shape of a face on one side then on the other side a geometric Acoma design.
This pot has a face, pierced ears with dangle heishi turquoise earrings.
This pot measures 4 1/4"H x 5 1/4"W x 4 3/4"D, SKU #PAFPLS1.
Hard to believe that this style of painting a
face on a pot was being done in the 50-60's, as it really would go into any art decor nicely today!
No doubt due to its rarity and the fact that it is hand painted hand coiled one of a kind, collectable.
If you like this pot then see Frances Torivio's face pot she also did. SKU #PAPFPROUFT1
