You will find two listings of this piece
HOWEVER YOU WILL BE PURCHASING ONLY ONE BRONZE.
Here is the reasons why:
The other listing has loaded earlier with larger &
better pictures, BZSCCDAB1
is the other listing...however that same listing
does not load the description
for whatever reason so therefore I created a second listing.
The current listing you are currently viewing and are on
BZSCCDAB shows the description of the item however
Big Commerce the platform I am using does
not allow me to drag and drop photos into
the updated new listing as they become
thumbnails way too small for the customers to view.
So all my pictures have by Big Commerce been made into thumbnails
too small to view...
So on this listing you can view the description clearly
then you will need to go to the duplicate listing BZSCCDAB1
to view the best photos that capture this piece magnificently!
So "thank you" for bearing with us,
and thank you for viewing and
for taking time out of your very busy life and day to enjoy
this amazing piece of Art.
"Southern Cheyenne Chief" is the name of this
simply amazing bronze
by husband and wife team, Don and Ann Baker.
What a striking piece this is!
When creating this bronze this was thought
to be the most detailed bronze in the world.
Consisting of 87 separate castings of bronze
that once created in bronze, are then welded together
one by one from the inside out, then hand painted and
polychromed by Ann Baker.
Jerome Bushyhead is the actual Native American model used for this bronze
whom looks identical to the bronze.
This bronze is signed by both Don and Ann Baker and it is # 28/40.
This is a limed edition bronze. Each are original total in the edition is 40.
This bronze is 28 out of 40.
Bronzes are not necessarily cast in order of number nor
are they all cast necessarily.
This bronze at its base,
is mounted on a revolving turntable for
easy 360 degree viewing.
Bronze measures 34 3/8" high from base to spear tip.
Width 21 3/8" measuring widest part of feathers to
widest part of pipe. Depth measures 15"-16'' deep
from front of Buffalo Robe to feathers in back of headdress.
Buffalo robe made of bronze flows as though it is
leather and is painted in great detail.
Pipe looks as though it is made of pipe stone
when it is bronze.
There is great detail and identical resemblance
of the model
to the chief he's portraying. The feathers flow like
a feather would flow,
even though it is made of bronze.
When you purchase a piece such as this you
know you are a serious collector.
Appreciating the know how of detail that went
into creating
this piece as well as the time it took to create
then the history as to
creating the Lincoln medallion, the chief is wearing
which alone, took 2 days to create.
showing the artist's great ability of creativity.
