SOLD Purchased from a private collection this necklace is collectable valuable and stunningly beautiful, not only in its unique design but for its quality artistry it's rarity not only in its limited quality designs made by the artist but also in the rarity of it's stone, Bisbee Turquoise. In 1960-1980's Carl Luthy and his brother who were Santo Domingo Silversmith's started a business where they were able to select a few quality artists, primarily Navajo artists, who they employed and who would do their own designs and when their items would sell, the brothers would make a small profit then taking the remainder of a percentage of the artists sale, where they would reinvest the profits putting it back into their business to purchase high grade sterling silver, only the best of stones and tools so only the most quality artistry would be coming out of their artist's designs and from their valued business. One of these described artist's was a woman, Nettie Gus Lyons Hunt a silversmith who produced this unusual and beautiful Floating Leaf Pattern Bisbee Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace. This may be one of her only pieces just like this made by her. This necklace shows signature of an Indian war bonnet (Nettie Gus Lyons Hunt). This design was known to be Carl Luthy Designs.
