SOLD this large lovely Blue Gem Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace.
This is a one of a kind piece that can be yours although pieces like this moving forward may just only be seen
in museums. As you look closely you can see all the detail that has gone into making this piece.
There are 6 squash blossom clusters of turquoise on each side of this necklace.
Each cluster of turquoise stones hold a total of 21 pieces of turquoise stones.
So 21 x 12=252 total stones on both sides squash blossoms only. When you then look down
at the stones on the Naja, you see how that Squash Blossom design minus the blossom,
has been incorporated under the Naja.
The Naja stones at the bottom...
36 total rounds in an arch, above that
45 total teardrop shapes
10 stones above Naja
8 stones below Naja.
4 center stones...
Total stones 355!!
Amazing!!
So how Zuni artists make their jewelry...they first have to form each bezel
that the stone will be placed it...then each stone must be fashioned to fit into each bezel.
As I was looking at the opening of the Naja...
I discovered another amazing fact about this necklace...
Do you see it??? Look closely...
You will see the teardrop shaped stone...has reverses it's placement...
from pointing inward to pointing outward...
I thought wow...how unique...it's the artist
making his special mark on this necklace that makes it unique unto itself!
Then for some reason ...my eyes follow up to each of the other squash blossoms...
Suddenly I see that artist has continued that unique look onto each squash blossoms opening as well!
I love the additional beautiful silver edging this piece shows.
It's like a finishing touch of silver that adds to the beauty of the Squash Blossom Necklace.
Something like this didn't need to be done, however this artist you can see took that extra time to make it extra special.
Measurements will soon be provided.
When not wearing this gorgeous squash blossom necklace, you can see
how wearable art can be easily converted to wall art when you use your
imagination and hang your necklace in whatever frame you choose and
use a black linen background to really make your art pop!
Bring out that beautiful Blue Gem turquoise color and make it part of your art decor!
Thanks for looking!
